Labour’s celebrity backers say they’re voting yes to AV
High-profile Labour supporters Eddie Izzard, Tony Robinson, John O’Farrell and Richard Wilson today confirmed their support for a Yes vote to AV, alongside their support for Labour candidates in May’s critical elections.
As star of Time Team and Blackadder, Tony Robinson explained, “at every election millions of people see their votes count for nothing. AV will let us back the candidate we really believe in without fear of wasting our vote.”
Eddie Izzard agreed, adding “I’m backing the Yes to Fairer Votes campaign to make MPs listen to ALL our votes”, while as writer and broadcaster John O’Farrell said in his message of support , “the campaign for fairer votes is nothing less than a fight for a genuine democracy”.
