On The March With Labour Yes!

Labour Yes campaigners joined around half a million people on Saturday’s TUC-organised “March for the Alternative”, in solidarity with trade unionists, public sector workers, and community groups rightly angry over the Tory-led coalition’s savage cuts.

Our placards reading “No to broken promises – Yes to fairer votes” were favourably received by other marchers, and one was even signed in Hyde Park by none other than Labour protest veteran and AV- supporter Tony Benn!

Now we need to step up the pressure on Cameron and Osborne and make them pay on May 5th. We will be on the doorstep campaigning to elect Labour candidates and to punish the coalition parties

But we will also be urging a Yes vote in the AV referendum for a fairer system which allows the progressive majority to be heard in general elections for years to come. AV will maximise the chances of kicking out the Tories from government and keeping them out.
